WSOC: CW athletes square off in virtual skills competition

Vote now to help pick the winner among Western Canada's top university soccer players

CALGARY - Women's soccer players from across the west are vying for your vote in a new virtual skills competition created by conference for the 2022-23 season.

Starting today, fans can use any social platform (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or TikTok) to vote for the best juggling/dribbling sequence. Three groups of athletes will be whittled down to one, with the top vote-getter in each group plus the next overall runner-up advancing to the finals Wednesday. That's when a winner will be chosen (again by popular vote, with each vote placed through any platform counting once per account per platform).

The women's soccer skills competition champion will be announced Friday.

Fans can also stay tuned for the men's soccer skills competition, which will run from September 19-23. These virtual showdowns will also take place for hockey, basketball, volleyball and football.
