VB / HKY: Games postponed
UBCO / UFV volleyball games, UBC / MRU hockey games affected
WINNIPEG - A volleyball series and a hockey series originally scheduled for this weekend have been postponed, Canada West announced Thursday.
The change comes as the result of the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat men's and women's volleyball teams and the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds men's and women's hockey teams not having the minimum number of players available to safely compete due to COVID-19 related protocols.
UBCO's volleyball teams were slated to visit the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades for back-to-backs on Friday and Saturday, while UBC's hockey teams were to face off against the Mount Royal Cougars on Friday and Saturday.
No reschedule dates have yet been set and will be announced by the affected schools when determined.
