Victoria topped the tournament standings with a perfect 5-0 record, leading the way with three Dream Team selections. Trinity Western earned two selections after securing a third place finish, while UBC and Alberta each placed one player on the list.
Trinity Western’s Ava Van Santen earned her second Dream Team nod of the season after delivering one of the most dynamic performances of the weekend, scoring six tries and adding three conversions across the Spartans’ five matches. Van Santen scored twice and added two of her own converts in TWU’s 24-0 win over Calgary, added two tries in a win against Alberta and another pair in a thrilling 17-15 victory over Lethbridge, helping the Spartans secure a bronze medal in the overall competition standings.
Joining her on the Dream Team was teammate Hailey Hibbs, who was a force on both sides of the ball throughout the tournament. Hibbs earned a second straight Dream Team nod, scoring in Trinity Western’s victory over Calgary and making several key defensive plays across the weekend, including thunderous tackles to strip opponents of possession.
Victoria led all teams with three Dream Team selections after finishing first at their first tournament stop of the season. Vanessa Chiapetta was instrumental in the Vikes’ attack, contributing both as a playmaker and reliable kicker, highlighted by a big performance against Calgary where she scored a try and added three converts. Teammates Maggie Mackinnon and Ella O’Regan also earned recognition after strong showings across the weekend, each playing key roles in Victoria’s balanced offensive attack that culminated in an impressive 26-5 victory over UBC in the final match of the tournament.
UBC’s Jaime Dickson was recognized with her first Dream Team selection of the season following a strong all-around weekend for the banner winning Thunderbirds, including a two score outing against Alberta.
Rounding out the selections was Alberta’s Emilee Randolph, who provided one of the Pandas’ top offensive sparks throughout the tournament. Randolph crossed the try line against UBC and TWU, consistently created attacking opportunities for Alberta.
