RUGBY 7s: CW Announces Victoria Tournament Dream Team
Seven standouts recognized following second event of CW Rugby 7s season

Feb. 11, 2026 - Seven student-athletes have been named to the second Canada West Rugby 7s Dream Team of the 2026 season, following a highly competitive series stop at Wallace Field in Victoria.
The University of British Columbia Thunderbirds once again set the standard, earning two Dream Team selections after completing a flawless 5-0 weekend. Victoria and Trinity Western also landed a pair of selections each, while Lethbridge rounded out the list with a single selection.
UBC’s continued dominance was powered by Kiki Idowu, who delivered another efficient offensive weekend for the Thunderbirds. The dynamic finisher recorded five total tries, including two tries on day two, scoring in both UBC’s 49-5 win over Calgary and against rival Victoria, helping the T-Birds remain unbeaten through two tournaments. It's Idowu's second straight nod after she was also named to the Alberta stop Dream Team.
Olivia Sarabura earned her first Dream Team nod of the season with an impactful showing across all five UBC wins. Sarabura tied for the tournament lead by recording an incredible 40 points, including four tries and 10 conversions. She notched three straight conversions and a try in a 26-5 win over Alberta, and also recorded a try and a conversion in the tournament clinching win over Victoria.
A pair of Trinity Western Spartans were honoured as Dream Team selections for the first time this season, with Hailey Hibbs and Kelsa Kempf both recognized. Hibbs was excellent all over the field, highlighted by a two-try outing in a 26-15 win over Lethbridge. Meanwhile, Kempf crossed the try line five times over the weekend, including a pair of scores of her own against the Pronghorns.
Victoria’s Ivy Poetker continued her outstanding form, leading all players with eight tries while tying for the tournament lead with 40 total points. Poetker scored six tries on day one and added two more on the second day, including Victoria’s lone try against UBC. Joining her on the Dream Team was teammate Olivia Newsome, who posted two tries and five conversions over the weekend. It's the second straight Dream Team nod for both Poetker and Newsome.
Millie Teskey rounded out the selections after a strong weekend for the University of Lethbridge. Teskey scored twice during tournament play, notching both tries in Lethbridge’s 14-10 victory over Calgary, helping the Pronghorns secure their first win of the Canada West 7s season.
