RUG: Second-year wing shows grit, speed in decisive victory

Piper Logan earns CW Player of the Week honours

CALGARY – British Columbia's Piper Logan was named the Canada West Rugby 15s Player of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.

Logan opened the scoring for the Thunderbirds in the team's meeting with the Calgary Dinos on Thursday. The second-year wing fought her way through several defenders in the play leading up to it, before getting back into the action on the far side and running the score in.

Logan scored again in the second half, putting her head down to finish off the last few sprinting steps to the try zone. Logan's efforts helped her team in a 41-0 stomping of the Calgary Dinos.

The team will be back in action Sunday as they host Lethbridge at 1 p.m. You can catch the action exclusively on Canada West TV.
