RUG: Dream team named after first tournament
CGY's Omokhuale, UBC's Seumanutafa headline selections

CALGARY - After a thrilling Rugby 7s tournament that saw storylines twist and turn with every rush and hit, seven players have been named to the CW Rugby 7s Dream Team. In line with Rugby 7s traditions, CW has elected to recognize a dream team after each tournament during the season.
A unanimous selection, Julia Omokhuale of the University of Calgary after helping her Dinos to a second-place finish. Omokhuale and her squad knocked off the Victoria Vikes in day one action - a feat that hasn't been accomplished since 2019. The victory snapped the Vikes' 37-match streak and sent a hard message to the four-time reigning champs.
In that match, Omokhuale was responsible for a late score that gave Calgary the lead. Her play impressed spectators and opponents alike while helping the Dinos to 12 points after the first of three CW tournaments.
The reigning Rugby 15s Player of the Year and Player of the Week, Shoshana Seumanutafa also earned a spot on the team after leading her UBC Thunderbirds to tournament victory.
