RUG: CGY fullback's key pair of tries helps Dinos to tone-setting win
Aikens earns CW Player of the Week honours

CALGARY – Calgary's Delaney Aikens was named the Canada West Rugby 15s Player of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.
Aikens single handedly put her Dinos season opener out of the reach of the visiting Lethbridge Pronghorns Friday afternoon.
The second-year fullback put her speed on full display in the second half as she chased down a kick by teammate Patricia Lively and shot through the try zone before the Pronghorns could chase her down.
The try extended the Dinos' lead to 22-7.
A mere two minutes later, Aikens opened herself up for a pass after an excellent run by Julia Omokhuale and took off, quickly putting distance between herself and her defenders in a 40-yard run to the try zone.
The two tries helped the Dinos to a convincing 36-17 win over their provincial rivals. The team will be back in action on Thursday, September 15 as they travel to Vancouver to take on UBC at 4 p.m. local time. You can catch the action exclusively on Canada West TV.
