MVB: Round Two schedule finalized after final day of Round One action

A thrilling weekend of CW Men's Volleyball Playoff action saw Canada West athletes display the resilience, grit and never-say-die attitude that can only be found in postseason play.
At the end of it, six teams earned berths to Round Two, while six others saw their seasons come to an end.
Those remaining will head to Round Two of the CW Men’s Volleyball Playoffs next weekend in the following pools/locations. You can catch all the action on CWTV presented by Co-op.
TWU Host (March 11-13)
Day 1: TWU vs. Saskatchewan 8:00 pm
Day 2: Calgary vs. Saskatchewan 7:00 pm
Day 3: TWU vs. Calgary 4:00 pm
ALB Host (March 10-12)
Day 1: Alberta vs. Brandon 7:00 pm
Day 2: Winnipeg vs. Brandon 7:00 pm

Here’s your Saturday rundown:
POOL A
TRU vs MRU: In a game that gave its winner nothing but pride, two teams battled it out as though a lot more was on line. Mount Royal and Thompson Rivers treated the fans in Abbotsford to an exciting match, with back-and-forth action that wore on for four sets. In the end, the WolfPack were the victors, defeating the Cougars 3-1. Full game recap here.
BDN vs TWU: The Trinity Western Spartans completed their perfect weekend Saturday, but it didn't come easy. The Brandon Bobcats gave the country's top ranked team a fight, beating the Spartans in the first two sets. Trinity Western proved it also has resiliency in its toolbox as they bounced back to win the next three. Both teams have secured their spots in Round Two. Full game recap here.
POOL B
UBC vs ALB: Pool host Alberta thrilled their fans Saturday, completing their perfect weekend in Round One of CW playoff action. The Golden Bears worked more efficiently than the UBC Thunderbirds off the bat to take set one before the Thunderbirds roared back in the second. The Bears regained their footing for the next two, however, to end UBC's season. Full game recap here.
UFV vs SSK: The Saskatchewan Huskies looked like a team on a mission Saturday, taking down the UFV Cascades in straight sets to earn their berth to Round Two of the CW Playoffs. Saskatchewan's defence could simply not be surmounted as they fired off three straight set victories. Full game recap here.
POOL C
CGY vs WPG: The Winnipeg Wesmen were able to brush off the weight on their shoulders Saturday, as they played to keep their season alive in front of a hometown crowd. For the third time in as many nights, the Wesmen played to five sets, taking a thriller over the Calgary Dinos when they needed it most. Both teams will advance to Round Two. Full game recap here.
MAN vs UBCO: The Manitoba Bisons played the role of spoiler Saturday evening, taking down the UBCO Heat in four sets to dash their hopes of advancing to Round Two of playoff action. The Bisons were already out of contention heading into the night, and the win gave their crosstown rival Winnipeg Wesmen the chance to move on to next weekend's games. Full game recap here.
