MSOC: Virtual skills competition opens

Vote now to help pick the winner among Western Canada's top university soccer players

CALGARY - Following a tightly contested women's soccer skills competition that saw Erin Van Dolder (GMU) crowned champion, men's players from across the west are now squaring off for your vote.

Starting today, fans can use any social platform (Instagram, Twitter or TikTok) to vote for the best juggling/dribbling sequence. Three groups of athletes will be whittled down to one, with the top vote-getter in each group plus the next overall runner-up advancing to the finals Wednesday. That's when a winner will be chosen (again by popular vote, with each vote placed through any platform counting once per account per platform).

The men's soccer skills competition champion will be announced Friday.

Fans can also stay tuned for skills competitions in hockey, basketball, volleyball and football later this season.
