MHKY: Cougars-Huskies game postponed

Saturday's game postponed after positive COVID-19 cases confirmed

VANCOUVER - Saturday night's game between the Regina Cougars and Saskatchewan Huskies has been postponed after positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed within the Cougars men's hockey program, the Canada West announced Saturday.

Saturday's matchup, which was scheduled for 7 p.m. at Regina's The Co-operators Centre, will be rescheduled at a later date. The conference's 2021-22 schedule was created with protected open weekends for instances where games may need to be rescheduled to accommodate positive cases or other issues related to the ongoing pandemic.

The Cougars and Huskies men's hockey programs have and will continue to follow all COVID-19 protocols as directed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority, as well as COVID-19 regulations put in place by each university and the Canada West.

The decision to postpone the game was made by the two participating schools, medical staffs, and the conference office, in order to protect the health and safety of all players and team personnel at both institutions.
