MBB: Guard breaks Canada West career record
TWU guard surpasses career triple-double mark in one season

CALGARY - Trinity Western University's Mason Bourcier is Canada West's new all-time leader in career triple-doubles. The fourth-year Kelowna product set the mark in a single season, posting triple-doubles on Jan. 21, Jan. 22, Feb. 4 and Feb. 19. This puts him ahead of the University of Winnipeg's Erfan Nasajpour, who set the previous conference record of three in 2005.
Attaining a single triple-double is rare: Nasajpour and Bourcier are the only two in the CW record books (dating back to 2000) to have more than one in their careers.
“Mason deserves every accolade that he gets. He does everything with passion and loves being in the gym. He’s the epitome of “trusting the process”. Mason has thrived by making guys better and I am very proud of him and his accomplishments this season. It has been a pleasure to watch this historical moment happen in person and to be able to see Mason break these Canada West records in a Spartan jersey,” said Trevor Pridie, head coach of the Trinity Western Spartans.
Bourcier began his record hunt in an impressive fashion, posting the unicorn of stat lines in back-to-back games in January. In one weekend, he did what none but one CW athlete had done in their entire careers. Then he solidified his place atop the record list by adding two more the following month.
Bourcier set each mark in convincing fashion, often adding assurances across the board in what were already lofty feats.
Bourcier will look to add to his record when he returns for his fifth season next year.

Four career conference triple-doubles:
