Golden Bears defenceman racks up four assists on weekend road trip

VANCOUVER - First-year Alberta defenceman Dylan Plouffe is the Canada West Men's Hockey Player of the Week after registering four assists in a pair of Golden Bears victories in Calgary.
The sixth-ranked Golden Bears needed all four points from the rookie to get a pair of wins against a pair of Top 10 opponents.
On Friday, Plouffe helped set up three of Alberta's seven goals in a 7-2 winning effort against the No. 7 ranked Calgary Dinos.
The weekend didn't get any easier against No. 5 ranked Mount Royal Cougars on Saturday. The Sherwood Park, Alta. native found the scoresheet again with his eighth assist of the year and finished with a +2 rating in Alberta's 4-1 win.
Plouffe is tied for fourth in the conference with seven assists this season, a number that leads all rookies.
It's another Top 10 matchup in the Canada West this weekend with Alberta (4-2) welcoming in the No. 3 UBC Thunderbirds (6-0). The games on Friday and Saturday are both available live on Canada West TV presented by Co-op.
