HKY: Lang scores fastest hat-trick in CW history
Calgary forward's natural hat-trick sets conference record
VANCOUVER - Calgary's Elizabeth Lang etched her name in the conference record books on Saturday night with the fastest hat-trick in Canada West women's hockey history.
Lang scored three times in 5:55 and was named the conference's Women's Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Manitoba's Brett Davis was named the Men's Hockey Player of the Week after leading the Bisons to a road win against Alberta.
In Saturday's historic performance, Lang got off to a quick start. The Edmonton, Alta. native scored the game's opening goal at 2:53 of the first period. Lang would tally again at the 8:17 mark to put the Dinos up 2-0 on the visiting Regina Cougars.
Just 31 seconds later, Lang would complete the natural hat-trick as the third-year forward scored to complete the fastest hat-trick in CW women's hockey history. The Dinos would go on to win the game 4-0.
With three goals on Saturday, Lang moved into a tie for first-place in the conference's goal scoring race, with six on the season.
The Dinos (4-8-0) have a bye weekend before the December break.

Brett Davis' five-point night on Friday lifted the Manitoba Bisons to a key 7-6 OT win on the road against the Alberta Golden Bears.
Davis scored the overtime winner just 25 seconds into the extra frame to give the Bisons the victory.
The first-year forward scored a pair of gals in the second period and assisted on the Bisons' third goal of the period as the teams went back-and-forth on the scoreboard. Davis assisted on Manitoba's sixth goal early in the third, before notching the game-winner in overtime.
The Oakbank, Man. product surged up the conference's scoring race leaderboard sitting in third place with 15 points, which is the best among Canada West rookies.
The Bisons (3-8-1) have a bye weekend before the December break.
