HKY: Brown, Sawchuk take weekly awards
Saskatchewan's Kennedy Brown and Mount Royal's Riley Sawchuk named Players of the Week

VANCOUVER - Second-year Mount Royal forward Riley Sawchuk and third-year Saskatchewan forward Kennedy Brown were named Canada West Hockey Players of the Week on Tuesday after leading their respective teams to a pair of wins on the weekend.
Riley Sawchuk netted a hat-trick and had one assist in Mount Royal's 9-0 win over the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday night. The Prince Albert, Sask. product scored a goal in each period, and finished the game at plus six.
On Saturday, Sawchuk added two more points to his season total of seven with a goal and an assist. The business student was named first star in both games on the weekend.
The Cougars (3-1) take on the Calgary Dinos (1-1) in a home-and-home series this weekend.
Sawchuk will move forward as the conference's nominee for U SPORTS Athlete of the Week.

Kennedy Brown's three points helped the Huskies sweep their provincial rival Regina Cougars in a home-and-home series over the weekend.
Brown recorded a goal and two assists in a pair of Huskies' 3-2 victories.
The Okotoks, Alta. native scored the game winning goal with just over six minutes to play on Friday night and finished the game with three shots on goal.
On Saturday, Brown helped the Huskies jump out to a 3-2 lead with assists on both of Saskatchewan's second period goals.
The Huskies (2-0) host the Manitoba Bisons (3-1) for a pair of games this weekend.
