FH: Vikes forward opens season with commanding performance

Nora Struchtrup earns CW Player of the Week honours

CALGARY – Victoria's Nora Struchtrup was named the Canada West Field Hockey Player of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.

Struchtrup opened the Vikes' season with a bang, notching four goals in the team's 9-0 victory over the Calgary Dinos Saturday.

That point total puts Struchtrup two goals away from her overall season tally in 2021. The second-year forward was exciting to watch as she worked with ease to find the back of the net.

Her four goals helped the Vikes make a statement as they took both games against the Dinos quite handedly.

Struchtrup and the Vikes will be back in action on September 24 and 25 as they host UBC at 11 a.m. both days.

Game log:
Sept. 10: Four goals in 9-0 W at CGY
