Mollenhauer wins award for second time

VANCOUVER - The 2021 Canada West Field Hockey major award winners and all-stars were announced by the conference on Monday, following the conclusion of the regular season.
Victoria's Anna Mollenhauer was named the Canada West Player of the Year for the second time after helping guide the Vikes to another conference title in 2021. The fourth-year defender also won the award in 2018.
Victoria's Chole Langkammer (Rookie of the Year), Calgary's Tayler Guy (Goalkeeper of the Year) and Jennifer Wishart (Gail Wilson Nominee), along with UBC's Poonam Sandhu (Coach of the Year) were also named major award winners in 2021.
The Vikes and Thunderbirds each placed four players on the Canada West All-Star team, while the Dinos had three players selected as all-stars.
Victoria capped off its 2021 conference title on the weekend, finishing the Canada West season undefeated after eight games over two double round-robin tournament weekends. The Vikes' conference title is their third straight and 22nd overall.
The Vikes will head to Ontario to take on the OUA Champion in a best-of-three series for the 2021 U SPORTS title November 11-14.

An eight-game starter for the Vikes in 2021, Langkammer was a consistent presence in the Vikes’ attacking 23, maneuvering her way around defenders tactfully to become a top offensive producer for Victoria. Lankgammer finished the conference season with eight goals as the Vikes out-scored their opponents 32-3 across all eight conference games. Six of those goals came in the Vikes’ home-opening tournament and all came from field goals
The sister of former Vikes U SPORTS national champion and team captain Stefanie Langkammer, Chloe looks to help the Vikes earn their third-straight U SPORTS championship this season.
