Players of the Week help Huskies win 2021 Uteck Bowl

VANCOUVER - Running back Adam Machart and defensive lineman Riley Pickett are the Canada West Football Players of the Week after leading the Saskatchewan Huskies to a win in the Uteck Bowl on Saturday.

The Huskies knocked off the Montreal Carabins 14-10 in the national semifinal in Montreal to book their ticket to the Vanier Cup against the Western Mustangs in Quebec City, on Saturday.

Machart's made the play of the game came with just seconds remaining on the clock and the Huskies down by three. The fourth-year from Saskatoon, Sask. burst through a hole for a 13-yard touchdown to give the Huskies the win. Machart benefitted from a strong day in the trenches by the Huskies offensive line, rushing for 158 yards on 20 carries.

Riley Pickett is the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after helping a stout Huskie defence allow just 10 points to the Carabins on Saturday.
