FB: Canada West unveils 2025 All-Star Teams

Regina leads list with 11 selections

Oct. 31, 2025 - The road to the 88th BioSteel Hardy Cup begins this Saturday with semifinal action — but before the chase for the conference crown kicks off, Canada West has announced its 2025 Football All-Star selections.

This year’s All-Star roster is headlined by the powerhouse programs from the province of Saskatchewan, which once again set the standard across the conference.

The defending Hardy Cup champion Regina Rams led all teams with 11 total selections following a strong 6-2 regular season. Their offence was anchored by third-year running back Marshall Erichsen, who rewrote the Rams record book with 11 rushing touchdowns — the most in a single season in program history.

Erichsen was one of five Rams named to the Offensive All-Star team, joined by receiver Nicholas Sirleaf and three members of Regina’s dominant offensive line: Riley Schick (centre), Will Templeton (guard), and Ethan Graham (tackle).

The Rams also produced the most defensive honourees of any team, highlighted by standout safety Carson Sombach, while kicker Ty Gorniak earned the conference’s placekicker nod after converting 17 field goals in eight games.

Up the road, the Saskatchewan Huskies earned eight total selections following a conference leading 7-1 campaign. Three key offensive standouts — quarterback Anton Amundrud, receiver Daniel Wiebe, and running back Ryker Frank — were all recognized for their impact on one of the league’s most explosive units.

Saskatchewan’s conference-leading defence was equally dominant, producing four All-Stars led by linebacker Seth Hundeby, who recorded 35 tackles, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions during a standout season. The Huskies allowed the fewest points-per-game among all CW outfits.

The Manitoba Bisons placed five on the list, including another All-Star nod for veteran quarterback Jackson Tachinski. The dual-threat pivot threw for six touchdowns and added six more on the ground, ranking second in the conference in rushing majors.

Calgary landed four All-Star selections, including two on special teams — punter Joel Pipke and linebacker Connor Jones — while UBC was represented by receiver Shemar McBean and offensive lineman Caleb Cunningham.

Carter Kettyle was the lone Alberta Golden Bear on the list, earning a spot after tallying eight touchdowns in seven games.
