FB: Bell MTS named home for CW Football Showcase in Manitoba

EDMONTON – Canada West football is headed back to Bell MTS.

Bell MTS was announced Thursday as the home for the Canada West Football Showcase in Manitoba, as conference football will be seen all season long on Fibe TV channel 1802.

A total of three University of Manitoba Bisons regular season games will be available, along with nine other conference regular season contests. All three conference playoff games will also be available on Bell MTS.

Highlights:

  • The Canada West Football Showcase will be seen on Bell MTS once again this season
  • Bell MTS carried Canada West football last season along with distribution partners TELUS, and SaskTel
  • A total of three Bisons regular season games will be available, along with nine other CW regular season contests
  • Manitoba’s season opener this Saturday against UBC can be seen across the distribution network (9 p.m. CDT)

Following a successful season in 2017, Canada West football is back this season across the conference’s distribution network – which along with Bell MTS in Manitoba – includes TELUS in Alberta and British Columbia, and conference partner SaskTel in Saskatchewan.

A total of 14 games will be televised as Showcase games across the entire distribution network this season, including the 82nd Hardy Cup, which will be played on Saturday, November 10.

The Canada West Football Showcase kicks off the 2018 season on Friday, August 31 with an opening night double-header, as Regina hosts Calgary (8 p.m. CDT available on Bell MTS) and Saskatchewan welcomes Alberta (8 p.m. CDT). 

This weekend, fans will also be treated to bonus coverage of Saturday’s Manitoba-UBC game from Vancouver (9 p.m. CDT), as the Canada West TV feed will be simulcast across the distribution network, allowing fans television access to all three opening week games.
