Quick Overview: It’s a battle of two nationally ranked teams as No. 7 Saskatchewan hosts No. 8 UBC. A big Homecoming crowd is expected at Griffiths Stadium for what should be an entertaining quarterback duel.
Saskatchewan's Anton Amundrud looked comfortable in his team's comeback win over Alberta last week, throwing for 245 yards and three TDs in a 29-20 triumph. UBC’s freshman QB Drew Viotto impressed in his debut, passing for 230 yards and connecting twice with Edgerrin Williams-Hernandez for TD strikes.
While both teams flashed offensive firepower, it was their defences that stole the spotlight. UBC held an explosive Manitoba offence to just nine points — the Bisons’ first single-digit outing in three seasons. Saskatchewan’s defence keyed their comeback by holding Alberta to just three second-half points.
Huskies linebacker Seth Hundeby, a 2025 CFL Draft pick, was named BioSteel Defensive Player of the Week after recording his first career interception and returning it 46 yards for a touchdown.
Head-to-Head: UBC took down the Huskies 38-24 in their lone meeting during Week 4 last season.
Alberta Golden Bears (0-1) at No. 9 Regina Rams (1-0)
Fri, Sept. 5 | 7 p.m. CST at Leibel Field

Quick Overview: The defending Hardy Cup champion Rams escaped Calgary with a 43-36 season-opening win, narrowly avoiding disaster after the Dinos scored nine points to force overtime in the final seconds - including a TD, two-point convert, and a kickoff rouge.
The hero was third-year running back Marshall Erichsen, who became the first player in Rams history to score four rushing touchdowns in a single game. His record-setting night earned him Canada West’s BioSteel Offensive Player of the Week honours.
It should be an electric atmosphere at the intimate Leibel Field as Regina welcomes an Alberta team eager to rebound from a frustrating Week 1 loss. QB Eli Hetlinger threw for 340 yards and a touchdown, but the Bears managed just three second-half points against Saskatchewan.
Head-to-Head: The teams split last year’s series, each winning at home. Alberta rolled 30–6 at Foote Field (Week 4), while Regina’s 29–22 win at Leibel Field in the season finale propelled the Rams into the playoffs and kickstarted their Hardy Cup run.
Manitoba Bisons (0-1) at Calgary Dinos (0-1)
Fri, Sept. 5 | 7 p.m. MDT at McMahon Stadium

How to watch:
Quick Overview: Two teams desperate for a win will square off at McMahon Stadium. Manitoba will look to reignite its offence after sputtering in Week 1, while Calgary aims to bounce back from a heartbreaker in overtime against Regina.
The Bisons reached the red zone six times last week — including on five of their six second-half drives — but struggled to finish, falling 21–9 to UBC. QB Jackson Tachinski accounted for 207 passing yards and 61 rushing yards, while Breydon Stubbs added 92 yards on 15 carries.
Calgary showed resilience in its loss, outscoring Regina 26–12 in the second half to force OT. QB David Jordan threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns, while Matthieu Clarke rushed for 110 yards and a score.
Head-to-Head: The Bisons and Dinos met just once last season, with Manitoba earning a 22-17 win during Week 4 at McMahon.
