CW announces Rugby 7s All-Stars
UBC Thunderbirds lead the way with five selections

March 1, 2024 - Canada West has announced its 2024 Rugby 7s All-Star teams, coming off another exciting season that saw the powerhouse UBC Thunderbirds claim a second-straight banner.
The Thunderbirds were simply dominant, going 13-1 at the three tournament stops to narrowly claim the title by two points over rival Victoria. The Thunderbirds fittingly led the way with five All-Star selections, leading the conference.
Savannah Bauder and Sara Kaljuvee were named to the first team after leading the T-Birds to the top offensive performance of any team, while teammates Adia Pye, Tia Jordo and Sarah MacPherson were selected to the second team.
Victoria were close behind with four selections, as the silver medallists placed Maggie MacKinnon, Lucie Romeo and Larah Wright on the first team as well as Shaye Ogurek on the second-team.
The bronze medalist Calgary Dinos landed a pair of All-Stars in Delaney Aikens and Esita Qiodravu, while Alberta, Lethbridge and Trinity Western each had a solo representative. Trinity Western's Ava Van Santen was named to the first team, taking her game to another level after a second team nod last season. Lethbridge's Zina Umeh and Alberta's Melina Ioannides were named to the second team.
