Regina vs. Victoria in women's basketball opens schedule of free webcast games

EDMONTON – The Canada West TV Game of the Week returns tonight, as fans will get a taste of conference action for free throughout the winter semester on Canada West TV – the official streaming home of Canada West.

Women’s basketball action kicks off the Game of the Week schedule, as the Regina Cougars (8-2) travel to Victoria to take on the Vikes (6-4) beginning at 6 p.m. PST.

The Game of the Week will be announced publicly the week prior throughout the remainder of the 2018-19 CW season, but some of the highlights will include: 

  • Friday, January 11: Brandon vs. Alberta / Men's Volleyball
    • Top U SPORTS teams clash, as No. 2 Brandon travels to take on No. 3 Alberta in Edmonton
  • Tuesday, January 29: Crowchild Classic / Mount Royal vs. Calgary / Women’s and Men’s Hockey
    • Hockey doubleheader at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, where more than 10,000 fans were in attendance last season
  • Saturday, February 2: Saskatchewan vs. Regina / Women’s Basketball
    • Provincial rivals and winners of the last three CW championships clash on the final night of the regular season

This season marks the second year for the Game of the Week on Canada West TV, which is enjoying another successful season with partner Yare Media.

Conference fans have helped make 2018-19 a record-breaking campaign, as sales have surpassed last season’s total.
