Canada West: Playoff Previews (Feb. 20 to 23) ​

Get ready for the CW volleyball, hockey and basketball playoffs

Feb. 20, 2025 - The excitement of the Canada West postseason is officially back this weekend, with playoffs set to begin in volleyball, basketball and hockey. ​

Volleyball gets things started with three playoff games taking place on Thursday night. The weekend will feature four best-of-three play-in series, with the winners booking a spot in next week's quarterfinals.

In women's action, No. 7 Winnipeg hosts No. 10 Calgary while No. 9 Trinity Western visits No. 8 Saskatchewan. On the men's side, it's No. 7 Calgary hosting No. 10 Fraser Valley and No. 9 UBC Okanagan visiting No. 8 Manitoba.

Meanwhile, Canada West men's and women's basketball will offer up a total of 16 can't miss single elimination games this weekend. The play-in round goes Friday, followed by quarterfinal action on Saturday.

In hockey, best-of-three quarterfinals hit the ice beginning Friday night. Women's action sees Regina visiting Mount Royal and Manitoba hosting Trinity Western. The men's quarterfinal matchups feature Calgary at Alberta and UBC hosting MacEwan.
