Canada West members set to host Bell Let's Talk events

Conference members helping raise awareness for mental health

EDMONTON – Canada West members will once again participate this season in Bell Let's Talk Day, as student-athletes continue to take a leadership role in generating conversations about mental health.

Bell Let's Talk Day is set for Wednesday, January 30th.

Since its launch in 2010, the initiative has helped spark mental health conversations, while raising nearly $100 million for mental health services across Canada.

Since 2017, CW members have been part of Bell's mental health initiative, hosting Bell Let's Talk events to help raise awareness for mental health on campuses across Western Canada using the power of university sport.

“Having conversations with our student-athletes about mental health and fighting the stigma around mental illness is important to Canada West,” said Rocky Olfert, Managing Director of Canada West. “We are proud to be part of the Bell Let’s Talk initiative and its positive impact on students and their communities across the country.”
