Canada West Announces 2025-26 Championship Sport Hosts

June 27, 2025 - Canada West has officially unveiled its 2025-26 championship sport host locations.

Victoria will serve as the hub for the first two championship events of the season, starting with the conference's golf championship returning to the island on Oct. 20 and 21. Canada West will serve as host for the event, taking place at the stunning Olympic View Golf Club, offering competitors a challenging track and incredible views of the Washington State Olympic Mountains. The event was last hosted in Victoria in 2022 at Cordova Bay Golf Course.

The Victoria Vikes will then welcome the conference's best distance runners to the island Oct. 25. The cross country championships will take place on the campus of Royal Roads University, offering runners a picturesque backdrop that includes Hatley Castle, a National Historic Site.

Diving into the pool, the Lethbridge Pronghorns will host the 2025 Canada West Swimming Championships at Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre from Nov. 28-30.

Alberta will host a pair of marquee conference championship events once the calendar turns to 2026, starting on the ice. The conference's curling championships return to Saville Centre for the second time in three seasons as the Golden Bears and Pandas look to defend home ice from Jan. 16-18.

Alberta will also host the 2026 Canada West Wrestling Championships, taking place in Edmonton on Feb. 14.

Rounding out the calendar is the 2026 Canada West Track and Field Championships, to be hosted by the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon from Feb. 20-21.
