Canada West and SaskTel unveil 2026 Football Showcase Schedule
SaskTel to bring 18 Canada West football games to subscribers

Aug. 27, 2026 – The hard-hitting excitement of the Canada West Football Showcase is set to return to SaskTel maxTV and maxTV Stream this fall with an action-packed 18-game schedule.
SaskTel subscribers can catch every Regina Rams and Saskatchewan Huskies game throughout the 2026 regular season, as well as every game during the BioSteel Hardy Cup playoffs.
This year's showcase begins Friday, Sept. 4 as Regina kicks off their season by visiting the Alberta Golden Bears (6:30 p.m. CST). The defending BioSteel Hardy Cup champion Huskies begin their title defence the next day (Sept. 5) when they head to Winnipeg to face the Manitoba Bisons (1 p.m. CST).
Fans across the province will have Sept. 26 circled on their calendars as the Huskies visit the Rams for a Week 4 showdown, the lone regular season matchup between the two rivals.
In total, the 2026 Canada West Football Showcase on SaskTel will feature 15 regular season games, six of which will be produced by SaskTel in partnership with Saskatchewan-based production company Bamboo Shoots.
SaskTel will also air the entire BioSteel Hardy Cup playoffs, including the semifinals on Nov. 7 and the 89th annual BioSteel Hardy Cup on Nov. 14.
“SaskTel is pleased to continue delivering Canada West football to viewers across Saskatchewan through maxTV and maxTV Stream,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “Supporting university athletics is an important part of our commitment to strengthening communities and creating opportunities for student-athletes to excel. Through our partnerships with Canada West and Saskatchewan’s universities, we are proud to help bring the excitement of varsity sport to fans across the province while providing exclusive local programming to our customers.”
Previous quote included for reference: "SaskTel is thrilled to once again deliver premier varsity football to fans across Saskatchewan through maxTV and maxTV Stream,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “Our ongoing partnership with Canada West brings exclusive local content to our customers while giving us the opportunity to champion university athletics and celebrate the incredible talent of Saskatchewan’s student-athletes.”
The rivalry between the Rams and Huskies is always intense, but it has reached a fever pitch over the past two seasons. The teams have met in each of the last two BioSteel Hardy Cups, with Regina capturing the title in 2024 before Saskatchewan responded with a victory in 2025.
If the teams meet again in the 2026 championship, it would mark the first time the Hardy Cup has featured the same matchup in three consecutive seasons since the Calgary Dinos and UBC Thunderbirds met three straight years from 2015-17.

“We are excited to once again bring Canada West football to SaskTel subscribers across the province," said Rocky Olfert, Managing Director of Canada West. “Since becoming the official television home of Canada West football in 2017, SaskTel has been a fantastic partner, connecting our talented student-athletes with fans across western Canada. We appreciate SaskTel's continued support of our conference and Saskatchewan's two elite football programs."
Every Rams and Huskies game will also be available on maxTV Local on Demand. Viewers can find them on channels 48 or 348 for the Rams and 49 or 349 for the Huskies.
All Canada West football games will also be available through streaming packages or single-game passes on Canada West TV - Presented by BioSteel.
