Aug. 26, 2025 – The wait is almost over, university football fans! This fall, the Canada West Football Showcase returns to SaskTel maxTV and maxTV Stream.

The showcase kicks off this Friday with Week 1 action: the defending Hardy Cup champion Regina Rams visit the Calgary Dinos (5:30 p.m. CST), while the Saskatchewan Huskies head to Edmonton for a battle with the Alberta Golden Bears (6:30 p.m. CST).

The Football Showcase will feature 18 games on SaskTel maxTV and maxTV Stream throughout the 2025 season, including 15 regular season matchups—every game featuring the Huskies and Rams. Six broadcasts will be produced by SaskTel in partnership with Saskatchewan-based production company Bamboo Shoots.

SaskTel will also air the entire Canada West playoffs, including the semifinals on Nov. 1 and the 88th annual BioSteel Hardy Cup on Nov. 8.

“SaskTel is thrilled to once again deliver premier varsity football to fans across Saskatchewan through maxTV and maxTV Stream,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “Our ongoing partnership with Canada West brings exclusive local content to our customers while giving us the opportunity to champion university athletics and celebrate the incredible talent of Saskatchewan’s student-athletes.”

Fans across the province of Saskatchewan have plenty to be excited for, with both the Rams and Huskies coming off appearances in the BioSteel Hardy Cup last season. The Rams won the championship game 19-14 in front of over 6,000 fans in Saskatoon, earning their second conference title in program history and first since 2000.

Circle those calendars for a Hardy Cup rematch on Sept. 19, as the Huskies host the Rams at Griffiths Stadium.

“We are excited to continue the strong partnership between Canada West and SaskTel,” says Rocky Olfert, Managing Director of Canada West. “SaskTel remains a dedicated supporter of our conference and plays a key role in bringing the energy of university football to fans across western Canada. We appreciate their continued support of both our conference and Saskatchewan’s two outstanding football programs. We can't wait for another entertaining football season, culminating in the 88th BioSteel Hardy Cup on Nov. 8."

SaskTel has been the official television home of Canada West since 2017, airing games from the past seven seasons.

Every Rams and Huskies game will also be available on maxTV Local on Demand. Viewers can find them on channels 48 or 348 for the Rams and 49 or 349 for the Huskies.

All Canada West football games will also be available through streaming packages or single-game passes on Canada West TV - Presented by BioSteel.
