Canada West and SaskTel announce 2024 Football Showcase Schedule

Aug. 27, 2024 – Get ready, football fans. The intensity and drama of Canada West university football is returning to SaskTel maxTV and maxTV Stream and TELUS Optik TV subscribers this fall.

The conference has unveiled its 2024 Canada West Football Showcase schedule, bringing 17 total games to SaskTel subscribers on SaskTel maxTV and maxTV Stream.

The Saskatchewan-based telecommunications provider will host 14 regular season games on the air, including all matchups featuring the Saskatchewan Huskies and Regina Rams.

SaskTel will also air the entire Canada West playoffs, including the semifinals on Nov. 2 and the 87^th annual Hardy Cup on Nov. 9.

Both Saskatchewan based teams promise to be contenders this season. The Saskatchewan Huskies, winners of the Hardy Cup in 2021 and 2022, are looking to get back to the conference championship game and build off their strong 5-3 record last season. Meanwhile, a young Regina Rams squad is poised for a bounce back season as they look for a return to the Hardy Cup playoffs in 2024.

Action kicks off on Labour Day weekend, beginning on Friday, Aug. 30 as the Regina Rams travel to Calgary to take on the Dinos. The Saskatchewan Huskies will begin their schedule the following day, as they head to Winnipeg to battle the Manitoba Bisons.

This year's schedule features two rivalry showdowns between the Rams and Huskies, taking place on Sept. 6 and Oct. 19.

SaskTel has been the official television home of Canada West since 2017, airing games from the past six seasons, including the last six Hardy Cups.

All Canada West football games will also be available through streaming packages or single-game passes on Canada West TV.

All Rams and Huskies games will also be available on maxTV Local on Demand. Viewers can find them on channels 48 or 348 for the Rams and 49 or 349 for the Huskies.

Fans in British Columbia and Alberta will be able to watch Showcase games on TELUS Optik TV, channels 997 and 998.
