BB: Games in B.C. postponed

WINNIPEG - Seven basketball games originally scheduled for this weekend in B.C. will be postponed, Canada West announced Tuesday.

The University of Victoria Vikes women's and men's teams, the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds women's team, and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat men's team will not have the minimum number of players available to safely compete due to COVID-19 related protocols.

UBC and UVic were to visit UBCO and the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves at separate times throughout the weekend, rendering three UNBC games postponed as well. No reschedule dates have yet been set.

The UBC and UNBC men's game on Sunday, Jan. 16 will go ahead as planned. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. at the Charles Jago Northern Sports Centre.
