Adam Kydd named WHL Grad of the Month for October
Former Hitmen and Rockets star led conference with 17 points in October

Nov. 6, 2025 – Calgary Dinos captain Adam Kydd has been named the conference's Western Hockey League Grad of the Month for October - a well deserved recognition after an explosive start to his 2025-26 Canada West campaign.
The former Calgary Hitmen (2019-21) and Kelowna Rockets (2019-21) forward has been a steady offensive force since joining the Dinos two seasons ago, but has taken his scoring prowess to a new level in his third U SPORTS season. The Regina product led the conference in scoring with 17 points (4G, 13A) in October, the most points by any player in a single month since UBC's Liam Kindree totalled 17 points in Feb. 2023.
Kydd started the season with six points (1G, 5A) in a sweep of the Regina Cougars and hasn’t looked back – scoring at least one point in all nine October games.
His efforts have helped the Dinos to an impressive 8-2 start to the season, placing them fifth in the latest U SPORTS rankings.
"Adam has had a terrific start to the season and has been our leader on the ice. He has been great in both ends of the ice, which shows with his offensive production as well as his strong plus/minus at +7. Adam is also an Academic All-Canadian in the Haskayne School of Business. We are proud of his early accomplishments." - Mark Howell, Calgary Dinos Head Coach

Kydd joined the Dinos in the fall of 2023 following a successful WHL career that spanned four seasons with the Calgary Hitmen and Kelowna Rockets. A member of the Rockets' leadership group as an assistant captain, he posted 20 goals and 53 points in his final season in Kelowna.
Now studying at the Haskayne School of Business, Kydd is utilizing his WHL Scholarship to attend the University of Calgary. For each season played in the WHL, a player is awarded with a one-year post-secondary scholarship, which includes tuition, compulsory fees, and required textbooks.
In partnership with Canada West universities, numerous WHL Scholarship recipients each year are also awarded additional financial assistance from their university to receive Western Canada’s premier hockey scholarship.
Since 1993, the WHL has awarded nearly 8,000 scholarships to graduate players. The WHL is the leading supplier of hockey scholarships in Western Canada and offers one of the most comprehensive scholarships in North America.
